This Cookie Policy explains how CapyIT AI ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on the Service. It should be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites
work properly, remember preferences, and understand how visitors use the site. We also use
similar browser storage technologies such as localStorage.
2. How we use cookies
CapyIT AI uses a minimal set of cookies and storage technologies. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers (such as Google Analytics) on the Service.
3. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the Service to function and cannot be switched off in our systems.
- sessionid — Keeps you signed in while you use the Service. Expires when you close your browser or after a period of inactivity, depending on your session settings. Type: first-party. Purpose: authentication.
- csrftoken — Helps protect against cross-site request forgery attacks on forms and actions that change data. Type: first-party. Purpose: security.
In production, these cookies are transmitted over secure (HTTPS) connections and use SameSite=Lax settings to reduce cross-site risks.
Functional storage (localStorage)
We use browser localStorage (not cookies) to remember your preferences on your device. This data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers automatically:
- cb-theme — Your light or dark theme preference
- cb-font-size — Your preferred text size in the app
- cb-font-family — Your preferred font family
- capyFocusActive — State of the focus timer during study sessions
You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings. Doing so will reset your interface preferences but will not affect your account data stored on our servers.
4. Third-party cookies and resources
Some pages load resources from third-party services. These providers may set their own cookies or collect technical information according to their policies:
- Google Fonts — Used to display typography on marketing and public pages. Google may log requests for font files. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Tailwind CSS CDN — Used on some public pages to deliver styling scripts. See the provider's documentation for their data practices.
- Google OAuth — If you choose "Continue with Google", Google's authentication service may set cookies during the sign-in flow. See Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not control third-party cookies. You can manage them through your browser settings.
5. WebSockets and real-time features
Chat and real-time collaboration features use persistent connections (WebSockets) backed by our infrastructure. These connections are tied to your authenticated session and are not cookie-based, but they require an active login session to function.

Most browsers let you:
- View cookies stored on your device
- Block all or certain cookies
- Delete cookies when you close the browser
- Clear localStorage and other site data
If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Service — including sign-in and forms — may not work correctly.

7. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for DNT, we do not currently respond to DNT signals. We do not track you across third-party websites for advertising purposes.
